Taking pen to paper

Since I was a kid, I've always been drawn, no pun intended, to comic books and bold illustrative artwork.

From Mike Mignola to Todd McFarlane, those artists have had a huge influence on my style, and I enjoy incorporating illustration into my design work whenever it strengthens the final piece.

My process isn't all that different from most illustrators: find inspiration, sketch out the concept, build in the details, develop the color palette, then refine it over and over until it feels right. Below is an early concept for a T-shirt design created for AEW wrestler Kyle Fletcher. While the concept ultimately wasn't selected, it highlights the creative process from initial idea to presentation ready artwork.

My illustration projects

The work featured below combines both tablet based and traditional keyboard and mouse illustration techniques, created primarily in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Whether I'm producing a hand drawn illustration or a polished vector graphic, my goal is always the same: create artwork that is visually striking, communicates clearly, and reinforces the story behind the brand.
